How To Apply


Education leading to the rewarding profession of medicine is demanding. We encourage committed and qualified candidates to apply to the University of Minnesota Medical School. As a member of the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), the University of Minnesota Medical School follows the guidelines delineated in the AAMC's official guide, Medical School Admissions Requirements, as well as our own school policies and procedures. Application to the Medical School is a two-step process. Prospective students must first submit the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application. Then, qualified applicants will receive a supplemental application for the University of Minnesota Medical School.

NEW FOR THE 2009-2010 APPLICATION CYCLE:The University of Minnesota Medical School has two campuses, in the Twin Cities and in Duluth. Beginning with the entering class of 2010, applicants will designate the University of Minnesota Medical School on their AMCAS application.  The applicant then will receive an e-mail with a link to a site where the applicant will indicate which program he or she is interested in applying to, Twin Cities, Duluth, or both. The applicant will receive additional instructions for the supplemental application from the selected program.
