Early Decision Program

The University of Minnesota Medical School offers the Early Decision Program (EDP) to all qualified applicants. Both residents and non-residents of Minnesota are eligible to apply for the Early Decision Program.

Qualifications:

  1. The MCAT must be taken by June prior to date of application. If you have not taken the MCAT at the time of application, you will not be considered under EDP.
  2. Applicant must be willing to apply only to the University of Minnesota Medical School and accept a place if offered one.
  3. Highly competitive undergraduate GPA.
  4. MCAT sum of 30 or higher, with a recommended score of at least "P" on the Writing Sample.
  5. Clear evidence of human service experience and exposure to medicine must be shown.
  6. Letters of recommendation must be excellent.

An applicant interested in applying under the Early Decision Program must submit an application to AMCAS before August 1st in the year in which applying. Additional information concerning EDP is available through the AAMC.
