Why Minnesota?
The University of Minnesota Medical School prepares students for the rewarding
and demanding profession of medicine.
Our faculty epitomize physicians’ expertise, compassion, and professionalism. The variety of clinical facilities offer diverse learning environments and patient populations. In addition, there are numerous opportunities to learn medicine at hospitals both nationally and internationally. And the extensive research enterprise at the University of Minnesota translates into opportunities for students to learn about making discoveries and improving treatments.
Medicine meshes mastery of science with caring for people. Successful applicants to our school have experienced medicine, preferably in a setting that emphasizes patient-centered care. Because we are one of six schools in the Academic Health Center, at the comprehensive University of Minnesota, our Medical School offers the opportunity to learn team-based patient care with students from other health disciplines and the opportunity to acquire additional degrees in areas related (as well as unrelated) to the practice of medicine.
