Description

This course provides an opportunity for students to participate in either experimental pathology or clinical research being conducted by various faculty members at the University or affiliated hospitals. The student can choose from the following areas of research: cardiac pathology; neuropathology; pediatric pathology; renal pathology; surgical pathology; immunobiology; hematology; genetics; cell biology; tumor immunology and transplantation genetics; molecular diagnostics; diabetes; cancer immunology; electron microscopy (diagnostic and research); experimental oncology; chemical carcinogenesis; immunopathology; chronobiology; tumor pathology; and immunocytochemistry.

Goals and Objectives

Students will learn research techniques by participating in ongoing research activities or by designing an individual research program.

Evaluation

Based on performance and interest shown; research paper may be required.
