Course Description

Prepares medical students to render effective primary care for patients with sexual concerns. Manditory two-day sexual attitude reassessment seminar and four symposia involving case presentations, panel discussions, and media presentations. Primary care will consist basically of providing patients with information and helpful suggestions and refer patients who require more specialized forms of health care. The Course is an introduction to basic and clinical skills that will be part of every physician's armamentarium regardless of specialty. Keeping these goals in mind, it is not expected that students will become competent "sex therapists" after completing the Course. Further learning experiences are available on a clinical elective basis.
