Non-Resident Tuition Scholarships
The University of Minnesota Medical School is committed to attracting a diverse student body. In order to attract diverse students from a variety of geographic, social, economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, it is necessary to recruit students from beyond the borders of Minnesota. Therefore, the Medical School Admissions Committee may award twenty-five (25) scholarships, equivalent in amount to the non-resident portion of medical school tuition, to high ability non-resident, non-reciprocity students to achieve this goal.
The following factors will be considered in the scholarship review process for non-resident, non-reciprocity applicants: academic achievement, high academic potential, educational disadvantage, financial need, race and ethnicity, evidence of outstanding leadership, creativity, unique work or service experience, community involvement, and special talents.
There will be up to twenty-five (25) non-resident tuition scholarships awarded to non-resident students in the University of Minnesota Medical School entering class of 2010. This scholarship will be renewed each year until graduation, as long as the student is enrolled full-time and maintains Satisfactory Academic Progress.
