Faculty / Medical Educator Workshops

Sponsored by the University of Minnesota
Provided by the Medical School Office of Education

Our workshops and short courses feature presentations by leaders in medical education, and offer opportunities for skill-building and sharing of ideas among physicians and other medical educators who teach our medical students. They focus on effective, student-centered teaching, whether it is in a large or small group, in the clinic or on the ward. The workshops are designed to foster reflective practice of medical teaching by providing practical guidelines from the medical education literature, using cases and dilemmas as a stimulus for deliberation about teaching, learning, evaluation and scholarship.

Residents are always welcome. In addition to our Faculty/ Medical Educator workshops, the Resident Educator Development (R.E.D.) program offers specific training for chief residents and residents.

Our workshops are free to faculty/educators who teach our students.  They are held on the University of Minnesota's East Bank Campus. CME Credit is available. A schedule of upcoming workshops is posted on this website in September of each academic year.
