Faculty Awards
The Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teaching Award
Each year, in collaboration with the Association
of American Medical Colleges, ΑΩΑ
presents the award to four outstanding teachers in medical education.
Candidates from each medical school in the United States and
Canada may be nominated by the deans of their schools in association
with the school's medical students and faculty. The accomplishments
of past recipients of the award include innovative work in education,
the development of medical education programs, and educational
materials that have been widely adopted in medical school curriculums.
The National ΑΩΑ presents $10,000 to each award winner, $5000 to his or her teaching institution, and $1,000 to the ΑΩΑ chapter of the school. The ΑΩΑ chapter at the University of Minnesota Medical School is looking forward to nominating one of our many outstanding faculty members. If you would like to nominate a faculty member, please feel free to write the President of ΑΩΑ Chapter at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Volunteer Clinical Faculty Awards
Clinical
faculty in community practices devote much time and effort to
teaching students and residents at academic medical centers,
yet their devotion is rarely publicly recognized. The
Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award is a tangible recognition of
the indispensable services these doctors give to medical education
and their communities.
At the University of Minnesota Medical School, we are fortunate to have a number of outstanding volunteers who occupy a vital role in Medical Education. Each year, the ΑΩΑ Chapter at the University of Minnesota Medical School selects one recipient for this distinguished honor.
