Child Care

Nursing Mothers

Nursing mothers are invited to use the two Nursing Mothers Rooms, one in Weaver-Densford Hall and one in Boynton Health Service. Equipped with electric breast pumps and refrigerators, these rooms provide a relaxing, private place to pump your milk during your busy days at the U. The coordinators look forward to the establishment of nursing mothers' rooms throughout the Twin Cities campuses.

The room in Boynton is open when Boynton Health Service is open (weekdays 8:00am-4:30pm, Mondays until 6:00pm); the room in Weaver-Densford Hall, donated by the School of Nursing and partly funded by the Women's Center and the School of Nursing, is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A short orientation is required before using the rooms.

Students, staff and faculty may call Laura Duckett at (612) 624-9160 or ducke001@umn.edu to use the room in the Nursing School, or leave a voicemail message for Kitty Bell at (612) 625-2926 for the room in Boynton.
