  • White Coat Ceremony - flyer (pdf)
A time for the Medical School community to welcome first year students into the profession of medicine, to share and celebrate the meaning of their purpose with friends and families, and for physicians at all levels of training and practice to reflect upon, honor and renew their commitment to the care of patients.

The ceremony will be held at Northrop Auditorium, 84 Church St SE, Minneapolis East Bank Campus. A reception will follow outside on the Northrop Plaza from 3:00-4:00pm. • Financial Aid Update, July 2009 - letter (pdf)

  • Intro to Anatomy, Orientation Day 2, August 6th - introductory letter (pdf)
For the Intro to Anatomy on Day 2 of orientation you will need to bring a change of clothes. Bring with you comfortable cloths and shoes that you will change into to do an exercise in the anatomy lab. Once complete you will change out of the cloths and leave in your locker (you will be assigned anatomy lockers at orientation). These clothes should be comfortable, and something you do not mind leaving in a locker for 8 weeks and throwing away once they are no longer needed.

  • Dissection Kits
Dissection kits are a requirement for anatomy. The anatomy department will be renting out dissection kits at orientation. They cost $15 to rent for the 8 week course. The kits are good for two people. A dissection kit rental table will be set-up outside the auditorium prior to the Intro to Anatomy on the second day of orientation.

  • AHC Student Health Benefits Plan - letter (pdf)
You are required to carry the Academic Health Center-Student Health Benefit Plan (AHC SHBP) unless you are covered by a US based employer health insurance plan or the Graduate Assistant Health Benefit Plan. All AHC students will automatically be enrolled in this plan. The charges will be added to your fee statement. If you choose to waive this plan, this letter contains information on how to provide proof of insurance meeting the waiver guidelines to facilitate a waiver from enrollment in this plan.

  • Get your U Card - information sheet (pdf) (updated June 18, 2009)
The U Card is your student ID and identifies you as a University student. All students must have a card. You will use your card to check out books from the library and also to gain access to the anatomy labs and other campus facilities, plus a lot more. If you are on campus prior to orientation you can get your card then, otherwise you can get it during orientation. In order to get your U Card you must be "admitted" in the University system. You are admitted as soon as the Medical School Admissions Office receives your intent to matriculate letter and your deposit. For more U Card information visit the U Card site.
